{"id":102,"date":"2023-04-28T13:53:56","date_gmt":"2023-04-28T13:53:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.psyparis16.com\/english\/?page_id=102"},"modified":"2023-05-22T08:47:49","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T08:47:49","slug":"cognitive-behavioral-therapy-cbt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.psyparis16.com\/english\/cognitive-behavioral-therapy-cbt\/","title":{"rendered":"CBT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">Being also trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), I integrate this expertise in my practice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">It allows me to help the patients that suffer from :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>\u2713 Depression<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Difficulty with stress management<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Agoraphobia and panic attack<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Social phobia<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Others phobias<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)<\/li>\n<li>\u2713 Generalized anxiety disorder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">The techniques used in this therapy are&nbsp;utilized at three levels : behavioral, cognitive (relating to mental processes) and emotional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">These techniques are used to modify mental processes and automatic negative thoughts (e.g. \u201cI can&rsquo;t have confidence in myself\u00bb, \u00abI can&rsquo;t face up to things\u201d, \u201cI am worthless\u201d,\u2026) which cause patients suffering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">Here are few examples of the CBT techniques which I use :<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>&#8211; <strong>Methods of exposure<\/strong> to anxiety-causing situations : patients are going to face anxiety-causing situations in a gradual and prolonged manner with my help, according to task defined together ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>&#8211; <strong>Relaxation and mindfulness<\/strong> in order to reduce anxiety ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>&#8211; <strong>Self assertion<\/strong> in order to allow patients to develop assertive responses (learn to ask, to say no or negotiate, know how to respond to criticism, manage anger, resolve conflicts,\u2026) but also social relations skills ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>&#8211; <strong>Stress management<\/strong> :\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">= Patients are going to learn to use breath control and relaxation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">= They are also going to have at their disposal better management of emotions by learning to lessen their intensity (by identifying them, accepting them and regulating their excesses).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">= They are going to recognize and change the automatic thoughts which keep them in a vicious circle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">= Patients are also going to develop the capacity to know how to adopt a positive attitude or at least to relativise the consequences of a situation realistically.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">= They are going to learn better time management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">= They are going to face up to difficulties better by pinpointing problems clearly so as to be less submerged by the emotions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">They are going to acquire a healthy lifestyle which helps regulate stress.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Roboto; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>&#8211; <strong>The use of cognitive and behavioral techniques will allow patients to learn to differentiate facts from their subjective appreciation<\/strong> so as to modify depressive or anxious patients&rsquo; systems of belief and establish a programme of activities intended to increase the number of situations in which patients can find pleasure or demonstrate their efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) &nbsp; Being also trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), I integrate this expertise in my practice.
